Lift and Tint  FAQs

  • Avoid wearing mascara 24 hours prior to the appointment

Before every lash appointment, whether it be a lift or extensions, make sure there is no residue around the eye area or on the lashes. Oils and residue can interfere with the procedure. Your lashes need to be clean and dry for the treatment for the perming solution to work properly.

Avoid waterproof mascara 24 hours before the appointment as it is notably more stubborn on the lashes and can be a lot harder to remove. Waterproof mascara actually contains chemicals that can dry out your natural lashes, losing volume and causing damage to the lashes. It is best to avoid waterproof mascara altogether.

Avoid eye creams, moisturizer or oils around the eye area

Any residue and product around the eye area can interfere during the treatment. We all know how important a good skin routine is but try to skip the eye cream and moisturizer the morning of the appointment.

Avoid wearing makeup to the appointment

You should also avoid wearing makeup to the appointment, especially around the eye area. You will be asked to remove any eye makeup before the appointment and this process can eat into your designated appointment time.

    Remove your contact lenses

Contact lenses can be removed before the appointment (IF NEEDED). In the event that any perming solution gets in your eyes, saline solution is used to cleanse the eye efficiently. Don’t worry, you can return to wearing your contact lenses immediately after the appointment.

  • What Does Permanent Lip Makeup Aftercare Entail?

Your lips will be swollen and dark after the procedure. The aftercare period lasts 5-7 days, during which you should do the following things:

Use Vaseline, balm or coconut oil to nourish your lips.

Gently clean them with a cotton pad and a little bit of water after every meal.

Don’t wear makeup on the lips for a week.

Avoid spicy food. It is also recommended to take beverages on a straw.

Do not rub, scratch and peel the area.

Don’t expose your lips to the sun, hot tubs, tanning beds, saunas, swimming pools.

Can I Wear Makeup After the Permanent Lipstick Treatment?

Under no circumstances should you wear lipstick immediately after the treatment. You must wait until the healing period is over. Once your lips are not swollen anymore and all the scabs have fallen off, you can wear lipstick. Also, it is desirable not to wear any makeup in order to avoid it reaching the treated area and infecting it.

Be patient for at least a week and after that, you are free to apply makeup.

How Long Does the Healing Period Last?

The healing period lasts around one week. Your lips will be swollen at first and some scabbing will be involved. Also, the color will look too intense, but 50% of it will fade during the first week. It takes a little bit longer for the color to settle. During this period, you should religiously follow the tips your artist gave you, in order to avoid any discomfort during healing.

  • In the first 24 hours after the treatment, avoid these things:

don’t wear mascara or any eye makeup

    don’t get your eyelashes wet

don’t use any products on your lashes

    don’t rub your eyes

    don’t go swimming

don’t engage in activities that cause excessive sweating

    don’t go to saunas

don’t take long showers and try to keep your lashes dry

    don’t sleep on your face

    don’t use oil-based products

  • Day 1

This is the most important period of the eyelash lift aftercare. For the first 24 hours, you need to be extra careful and follow all the tips listed above: don’t get your lashes wet, and don’t apply any products onto them.

    Day 2

Your lashes are still flexible, so you still need to be careful and avoid water especially hot, steam, rubbing your eyes and sleeping on your face. Since they’re so elastic, you don’t want them to change shape!

You may apply eye makeup as long as it has been 24 hours since your appointment.

    Day 3

You can relax now and start behaving as usual, more or less.

However, it’s advisable to still avoid waterproof mascara. They might contain oily ingredients which can relax the curl. Do not rub your eyes and avoid using aggressive makeup removers – especially oil-based ones.

    Days 4-20

You don’t have to do anything special anymore, and you can go back to all your normal activities, just keep avoiding oil-based products as well as those that contain exfoliates. They can relax the curl.

    Day 20

If your treatment included tinting, the color will start to wear off at this point. You can always come in for a quick tint, in between sessions.

    Day 21

You can start applying an oil recommended by your artist to nourish your lashes. Techs like to recommend oils or serums such as castor oil that stimulate growth so your lash lift turns out even better next time around.

  • It’s a lash enhancement treatment that curls your lashes upwards with chemicals, and optionally, tints them with a lash dye. The results take a bit of lash lift aftercare for 24 hours, and after that, your natural lashes will look longer and denser for 6-8 weeks.

  • The lash lift is the process which curls your lash from base to tip so that you can see the full length. Though all lashes have a natural shape to them, this process alters that shape via a tiny curling rod and a lifting solution. However, the treatment should always be performed by a licensed professional.

  • Semantically, tint means an artificial dye for colouring the hair. Therefore, an eyelash tint consists of adding a unique shade to your eyelashes, giving you weeks of dark, full lashes without the assistance of mascara. All you need is to recline in a salon chair, and a technician applies the dye to your lashes while you keep your eyes closed for about 10 minutes. It’s a quick, relatively painless process.

A lash tint will typically last about 4-6 weeks. Of course, this all depends on how you take care of your lashes.

  • Once the lash lift aftercare period is over, the results are really low-maintenance and you don’t have to worry much about them. It’s enough to brush your lashes with a spoolie from time to time, and refrain from touching your lashes and rubbing your eyes.

After the first 2-3 days, you don’t have to follow the lash lift aftercare instructions anymore – you can relax and go swimming, work out, wash your face, sleep in whatever position you like, and you don’t have to worry about your lashes.

Just make sure you don’t use oil-based products until day 21.

  • You can shower the very same day, but make it short and not too hot. Steam will not do your lashes good, so do not take long showers in the first 48 hours. Try not to get the eye area wet.

  • You can wash your face as you usually do 24 hours after a lash lift treatment, once your lashes have hardened and settled, but don’t use oil-based products. Otherwise, you might ruin the chemical bonds that keep them curled.

Use wet cotton pads and clean your face gently, avoiding the eye area, in the first 48 hours.

  • Mascara and eye makeup are allowed 24 hours after a lash lift treatment, but don’t use products that contain oils.

You probably won’t need it anyway since your lashes will look great on their own. Stay away from the lash curler and waterproof mascara! It can damage the results, and you don’t need it anyway.

  • You shouldn’t put waterproof mascara on a lash lift.

Firstly, because it contains aggressive ingredients that dry your lashes, or oils that could relax the curl. Secondly, removing it requires aggressive products and some rubbing. All of that can relax your lash lift.

You probably won’t need mascara anyway, since your lashes will look great with a lash lift, but if you want to highlight them even more, use an oil-free formula that’s easy to remove.

  • Yes, but also 24 hours after the treatment. Use a formula that washes off easily, so you don’t have to rub your eyes hard to remove it.

  • Not immediately after it.

In fact, you should avoid all oil-based products. 3 weeks after the treatment, when the tint starts fading, you can start nourishing your lashes with a product approved by your lash lift tech. The best option is to use coconut or castor oil, or special serums that also stimulate growth.

  • No, it starts fading sooner, about 3 weeks after the treatment, and your lash lift will last longer, until your lashes finish their growth cycle.

  • First of all, follow the lash lift aftercare tips for the first 24-48 hours. After that, don’t use waterproof mascara, don’t rub your eyes and don’t go swimming so often.

  • No, there are no lash lift touch ups. Your lashes should be curled for at least 6 weeks. After that, they will start relaxing visibly, as new lashes replace the curled ones.

  • After about 6 weeks, once all the curled lashes have fallen out, you can repeat the lash lift treatment, but it’s not a bad idea to wait a bit longer, at least 8 weeks.

  • Professional eyebrow tints usually last 4-6 weeks. The colour will gradually fade, the rate at which it does can depend on your hair type, the type of beauty products you use, and how well you care for your brows.

  • Although it’s not a problem to get your eyebrows wet after a tinting treatment, you can try to avoid washing for at least 12 hours. You should also avoid excessive touching or rubbing for 24 hours to avoid irritation. Chlorine can also shorten the wear of your tint, so be wary if you’re a regular swimmer.

  • As part of your brow tint aftercare, we recommend that the only skincare you need to avoid is anything that contains a tan or gradual tanning agents. The tan can react with the tint, leaving your brows a rather unwelcome shade of green. We recommend avoiding fake tan for three days either side of your treatment.

If your tinting treatment also included some hair removal, such as waxing or threading, you should also avoid exfoliators and anti-ageing skincare formulas on the treated area for three days after your treatment.

  • To maintain your freshly tinted brow look for as long as possible, here are the key points to remember:

Chemicals such as chlorine can speed up how quickly brows can fade, so try to avoid swimming if you want long lasting results

Anti-aging and exfoliating skincare should be avoided for three days either side of your treatment. After that, avoid applying around the brow area to prevent premature color fade

Try not to excessively brush them; just leave it as part of your morning routine and then step away from the spoolie

Always visit a professional brow stylist, as they will be using a high-quality, long lasting dye
